HOW TO TIE A ZIG RIG

Zig rigs can be deadly in the summer whilst the fish are cruising the upper layers of the water. Zig rigs are relatively new. People are fishing these at 18ft on the big pits. The Zig rig will work on any carp lake and you can use any bait not just zig foam!

Materials needed:

  • Gardner Zig Rig Line (10LB)
  • Wide Gape Hooks (Size 8)
  • Zig Aligner Kit

HOW TO TIE A ZIG RIG

STEP ONE:

Firstly, take your zig line and cut it to required length (we suggest starting 1ft from the surface) and tie a loop in one end.

STEP TWO:

Take your baiting needle and push it through your zig aligner and pull onto the mainline of your hook length.

STEP THREE:

Chop the loop off then tie a knotless knot (whip around the hook 6 times). Attaching your hook to your zig. Chop the tag end off that you’re left with.

STEP FOUR:

Carefully pull the zig aligner back onto your hook making sure the ‘band’ bit is on the back of the eye.

STEP FIVE:

With your zig aligner kit, put a piece of foam in the wider end. Push the thinner end of the tool through the band making sure your foam pops through. Then remove your zig aligner tool.

STEP SIX:

Chop the foam to what ever size you require.
