HOW TO TIE A KD RIG

KD is one of the ‘go to’ rigs that many big carp anglers go to. Simplicity is key to this rig. Forget your stiff boom sections and crimps! You need 2 components and you’re good to go!

Materials needed:

  • Diawa Sensor Line (12LB)
  • Wide Gape Hooks (Size 8)

HOW TO TIE A KD RIG

STEP ONE:

Take your length of line and tie a little hoop in one end. With the opposite end of your hook length put it through the back of the hook.

STEP TWO:

Take your tag end and hold it down towards the curve of the hook.

STEP THREE:

With the main line of the rig, wrap it around the shank of the hook 2 times and move the hair back towards the eye of the hook.

STEP FOUR:

Whilst holding the hair back towards the eye of the hook (Can be tricky) wrap your mainline UNDER the hair 2 times, this will kick the hair off centre.

STEP FIVE:

Wrap once more with your main line towards the eye, putting the mainline back through the the back of the eye, moisten and pull tight (known as a knotless knot)

BAAAM, you got your first KD rig. Catch a massive carp and send us your pictures!
